MGS4 on the 360
Tuesday, May 29, 2007, 10:45 PM
This is the rumor that just won't die. I don't think its being kept alive by the fans of the series, but by the 360 fanboys who are looking for something to smack Sony down. I hate to tell you, but even IF MGS4 does come to the 360, a year or more after the PS3 version, its not going to matter.
Hardly anyone buys a game that is already a year old. Video gamers are very fickle, they want whats new and whats hot, not what was a year ago. Look at how well MGS2 sold on the Xbox, oh wait, it sold like SHIT! There are plenty of examples, like a more relevant one right now, Halo 2 Vista. Who the hell is going to buy an old game now? Only the people that want to use the map editor/achievements. You will hear me say this, like everyone else, it won't sell.

So who gives a shit if MGS4 does come or doesn't come. Its not a matter of Blu-Ray vs DVD9, these are just points for idiots to argue over(I myself have been on a few times). Ignore it if you own a PS3 and play MGS4 while all the 360 owners are sitting there waiting to hear if it is coming or not.

Armor Choices in Halo 3?
Monday, May 28, 2007, 10:32 AM
Cobra, Intruder, Ninja and Regulator seem to be new armour types available for Spartan use in multiplayer, with the standard default Mjolnir selectable of course too. What’s interesting is that seperate armour parts are listed for each of these new types also. Helmet, left and ride shoulders, and body are all listed seperately suggesting players will be able to mix and match parts essentially building their own Spartan. This has been semi-hinted at before and Spartans with different coloured shoulder plates and helmets were spotted in the last Bungie released Vidoc.

It doesn’t end with Spartan models types though as similar listings are included for Elite use. Fewer options than the Chief, Elite players are offered the choice of new Predator or Raptor types, or the standard default.

Now that is something I think Halo 3 really needs. A way to look different online. So in Team play you can still look different even though you have the same color armor. I'm just really excited iver this game now. I played it quite a bit last night and came in no less then 3rd for the hour and a half I played. The matchmaking is really helping so I don't get my ass kicked by all the major players out there.

Late Entry
Sunday, May 27, 2007, 04:48 PM
Two things have caused this to be late. 1) No internet access at home (computer resides at my parents house still) and 2) Halo 3 Beta (Stealing the neighbors wireless connection).

Now the Halo 3 Beta is a lot more fun that I expected it to be. I figured that when I jumped in I'd be getting my butt kicked left and right, but I'm actually holding my own right now. I'm nowhere close to ever being the top player in the match, but I've come in 2nd a few times and am usually around the middle of the pack. Graphically it is a lot better then I was expecting from Halo 3. I can't wait to see what they have done with the Single Player game.

Lego Star Wars - Complete
Thursday, May 24, 2007, 03:17 PM
LucasArts today confirmed recent retailer product listings and announced Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga for the PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, and DS. As the name implies, The Complete Saga will collect the first two Lego Star Wars games to provide a full path through the six Star Wars films in one package. However, the game isn't just a straight-forward port of the first two Lego Star Wars games.

Traveller's Tales is promising new characters, features, and levels for the game, including a recreation of Episode II's flying car chase sequence with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn in pursuit of bounty hunter Zam Wessell. Levels from the original Lego Star Wars game will also be altered to include features from the sequel, and the DS version in particular will be all-new, "developed brick by brick from the ground up."

If I didn't already own both games, this would be high on my list of games to get. I can't stop talking about how good they are.

I finally finished Episode 5 of Sam and Max. I love this game, it is really bringing me back to my roots of adventure gaming. Next up is the last chapter, Dark Side of the Moon. Can't wait to get my PC setup back at my new condo so I can truly appreciate the game.

Shadowrun Demo on June 6th
Tuesday, May 22, 2007, 08:45 PM
Even while describing a demo for Shadowrun as the "best tool [FASA has] to show people why the game rocks," it isn't going up on the Xbox Live Marketplace until June 6, eight days after its retail release on May 29.

An official post on the game's forums indicates their intent is to "release the demo at a time when players can focus their attention and time on Shadowrun, i.e., not i the middle of the Halo 3 beta." The demo contains three training chapters, solo and public match modes, one map, two races -- Elf, Human -- magic and tech abilities and some weapons, too.

Releasing the demo near the end of the Halo 3 beta may help swing some players over looking for a new shooter, but what affect will it have on the game's initial sales?

I was thinking about picking up the game, but at $50 for the PC version, I'm going to hold off until I play this demo. I'm an avid player of the Shadowrun RPG, so I want to give it a fair shake, but I'm not holding my breath.

Mario Strikers Charged
Monday, May 21, 2007, 04:48 PM

Now I'm not a real soccer fan, but this trailer has got my interest. Maybe once I finally get my hands on a Wii I can try it out and see if it has enough Mario inspired innovation to keep me playing.
