RE4 + Umbrella Chronicles Video
Friday, April 20, 2007, 02:07 PM

I loved the House of the Dead games, so an RE style one on the Wii is a good selling point for me. I can't tell you how much fun I had with my light gun games. Wii FTW in this case. I hope like the later HOTD games the path through the level changes based on certain things that happen throughout the level. It really threw me off when it seemed like my path was random each time I played.

Who else how there loves Light Gun games? I can never get enough of them, too bad there was only like one on the Xbox.

Moving is the worst
Wednesday, April 18, 2007, 10:55 AM
I've packing up my apartment, preparing for a few months of couch surfing. I hate trying to figure out what to keep, what to throw away, and what to try and hawk for a few extra bucks! Last time I moved it was from an over sized apartment that was over full with items from my parents when they sold their house and decided to live out of an RV. I moved into a smaller place to afford the rent better, and now I'm down to only what I can fit in my car, until I get settled in MA.

But have no fear, the updates may be a little sparcer, but they will be coming.

The Daily Show/Colbert Report available on XBL
Tuesday, April 17, 2007, 09:21 PM
Microsoft sent over word that episodes of Comedy Central's "fake news show" The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, along with the companion show The Colbert Report, are now available for download via Xbox Live for owners of the Xbox 360 console. New episodes of both TV shows will be made available for download within 24 hours after they are broadcast on Comedy Central.

How much are they going to charge for these though? I mean there are 5 new ones a week, 160 points ($2)? They are available on iTunes for $1, so I hope they don't charge more then 80 points for them. Needless to say I won't be downloading them at all.

Classic Prince of Persia on the 360
Tuesday, April 17, 2007, 05:10 PM

Source Rumor

This is a great rumor that would REALLY get me excited. I remember playing the first 2 Prince of Persia games on my old PS/2 with this crappy square joystick that had only a red and black button. The animation at that time was unbelievably smooth and sold me on the future of gaming. The Xbox games didn't disappoint either with how amazing those animations were either. A classic on the Xbox Live Arcade I hadn't played yet, that is worth my hard earned $$$$.

Guitar Hero 3
Monday, April 16, 2007, 04:40 PM

When news about Guitar Hero 3 mistakenly appeared on RedOctane's website last week, you couldn't blame anyone for not exactly flipping out -- we already knew Neversoft has been working on the next version for a little while now. GameSpot recently spoke with RedOctane president Kai Huang, however, and he outright confirmed that Guitar Hero 3 is coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2 and Wii by the end of the year.

"Guitar Hero III is being developed by Neversoft, which is an internal Activision developer. They're one of the best Activision developers, if not one of the best developers in the world, having had a tremendous amount of success with the Tony Hawk franchise, and they've been working on Guitar Hero III now," he said.

Oh, and here's one a little out of left field: there's going to be a Nintendo DS version of Guitar Hero, but won't arrive until early 2008. Somehow we doubt they'll be releasing a guitar for that one. Huang also confirmed all the peripherals released for Guitar Hero 3 will be completely wireless. The Xbox 360 axe for Guitar Hero 2 was supposed to be wireless, but Microsoft reportedly stopped that -- apparently that little roadblock will be removed in time for the fall release.

Other additions to the series come as not-so-surprising, such as the incorporation of online play, more downloadable content, new and expensive deluxe peripherals for the hardcore gamers and some other features they aren't just yet ready to talk about.

What everyone's really concerned about, however, is the music. Huang is tight-lipped about the tracklist, but he does drop a teaser: "We've got a lot of songs and artists still that we would love to have, in particular, we've been trying to get Metallica, AC/DC, and Led Zeppelin, so hopefully sometime in the near future, my wish, and everybody's wish, will come true, and we can get some of their music in the game."

Here I am trying to figure out how I can pay for my copy of GH2 for the 360, and news of GH3 with a wireless guitar is out there. Not to mention it may have AC/DC, one of my favorite bands of all time included in it, along with Led Zeppelin another favorite. I think I might just save myself the agony of not having Guitar Hero and just buy it now!

Sony Drops 20GB PS3
Thursday, April 12, 2007, 11:54 AM
April 12, 2007 - Sony Computer Entertainment America has confirmed that its axing the $499 20GB version of the PlayStation 3 in favour of the far more popular 60GB model.

Although there are still 20GB versions available in stores, Sony won't be replacing them once stock runs out. "This is based purely on consumer and retailer demand, which favoured the ($599) 60GB model 10 to one," explained SCEA PR boss Dave Karraker.

For those existing 20GB PS3 owners, Karraker confirmed full PlayStation support will continue to be available. Furthermore, as is customary these days, Karraker also took the opportunity to take a swipe at Microsoft.

"Current 20GB consumers will still be 100% supported with software and services," he boasted, "since all PS3s have the same basic architecture. Unlike if Microsoft were to stop selling their Core system, which would allow publishers to actually use their hard drive for gaming purposes, leaving the Core user out in the cold." Oooh, get you.

The news is likely to be met with casual indifference in Europe, where the lower-end PS3 was never released.

This is news I'm indifferent to. I never had a plan to buy a $500 PS3 as the number of items it lacked, Wi-Fi, 60GB HDD, Shinny face Plate, etc caused me to only want to higher end one. As for the 20GB ones not selling, they haven't been on store shelves for people to buy. In my area where PS3s are abundant, I haven't seen a single 20GB in stock. Mainly because stores aren't ordering them, but that is also due to lack of consumer interest. Maybe when the $600 sees a $100 price drop I'll pick one up, but not before.
